Our ‘new design’ Kelford Electric Steam Boilers are self-contained with integrated feed-water and blow-down tanks. They don’t generally require any additional ancillary equipment as with other electric steam boilers.
Kelford Electric Steam Boilers are very efficient. They are compact and require no venting. Steam is discharged directly from the electric boiler for a quick, efficient operation. Either model can be modified to fit with purpose when necessary and yet either model will fit with most requirements.
We are able to design and build to specific project requirements.

Design of the boiler
The pressure vessel and seismic control components of our boilers been designed to comply with all New Zealand codes of practice and regulations. The boiler drum itself has been designed to meet the requirements of PD:5500 2021 Category 3.
A third-party engineering consultancy has peer reviewed our design and it has received design verification from an approved inspection body in accordance with New Zealand Pressure Equipment, Cranes and Passenger Ropeways [PECPR] Regulations.
12 Month Warranty
We offer a full warranty on our new boilers for a period of 12 months from the date of commissioning the steam test.
Subject to correct installation, suitable water quality and operation and maintenance in accordance wth our recommendations.
Installation & support
We can provide turnkey installation, start-up services followed up with operator training, and fully support.
Parts & Service
The frame and internal components of all KESB boilers are common across our entire range, making parts cost effective to manufacture and keep in stock. We have design our boilers to be as simple as possible to be serviced by a single fitter. We hold a full set of parts, including whole boiler drums, at our workshop in Christchurch.
